I cannot open a previously saved .cs file. What can I do?
Solution
Some HSpot users have reported that they cannot open proposals (.cs files containing the information that goes in the cover sheet) that were saved using the option 'Save proposal as' in a previous HSpot session.
This problem may happen when the 'Title' or the 'Abstract' fields of the proposal were left empty at the moment when the proposal was saved.
The error that HSPOT gives is: Unable to read file: java.io.IOException: You must supply an abstract/a title for your proposal.
In order to be able to read in the .cs file again using HSpot, you must edit the .cs file (which is an xml file in ASCII format) and add the missing information.
In particular, you should add the following lines:
<Title>This is a dummy title</Title>
and/or
<AbstractText>This is a dummy abstract</AbstractText>
,
as applicable, anywhere in the .cs file. When this has been done HSpot will be able to read the proposal .cs file without problems.
